Emily A. Thorson
I am an assistant professor of political science at Syracuse University. My research focuses on how people learn about the political world. I am particularly interested in understanding what people get wrong about politics and policy, and how correcting these misperceptions can shape attitudes and behavior.
Previously, I was an assistant professor at the political science department at Boston College and at the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. I received a dual Ph.D in communications and political science at the Annenberg School and at the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
